"Hotface" fibre is the final layer of fibre thet is exposed to the heat of your kiln. We use 1440 Degree 128kg rated Ceramic fibre blanket for the Hot face in the base and lid for our kilns. 
 
For lid fibre replacement we recommend you replace the cuplocks and anchor rods.
