The Cobcraft Mate 1.0 Kiln is a compact, high‑efficiency electric kiln designed for potters who need reliable stoneware performance in a small studio footprint. Built in New Zealand using premium materials, the Mate 1.0 delivers exceptional insulation, fast heat recovery, and economical firing up to 1260 °C.
Ideal for test tiles, jewellery, miniatures, small functional ware, and sample batches, this kiln offers Cobcraft’s proven durability and firing consistency in a small, practical format.
Construction & Materials
To achieve the most insulated and economical kiln in its class, the Mate 1.0 is built using:
Stainless‑steel outer case for strength and corrosion resistance
Italian‑made refractory bricks for superior insulation and heat retention
High‑grade internal insulation system engineered for efficient 1260 °C firing
R‑Type thermocouple fitted as standard (other types available—see below)
Bentrup controller socket (HAN7Da) pre‑installed
Supplied with a 15 A plug (requires a dedicated 15 A outlet)
The kiln includes the Cobcraft Mini Safety Stand, providing improved working height, stability, and safe airflow around the base.
Thermocouple & Socket Options (Specify When Ordering)
When ordering your Mate 1.0 Kiln, please specify one of the following configurations:
R‑Type thermocouple + Bentrup socket (standard)
S‑Type thermocouple + Bentrup socket
K‑Type thermocouple + Bentrup socket
No Bentrup socket (for customers using their own controller system)
This ensures the kiln is correctly configured for your chosen controller.

Controller Compatibility
